Covered Bridge Hand-Painted Wood Sled
from Slates and Sleds

This hand-painted wood sled features a covered bridge on a winter day.

Our wood sleds, handmade of 3/4" pine, are available in three sizes. The 15" and 16" sleds have an arched board at the top where the artist can paint "WELCOME" at no additional charge. The 18" sleds do not have the arched board at the top but have an edge reveal along the outside of the painted area and along the runners for more detail. Our Santa Sled is shown on an 18" sled.

Each sled is stained with a provincial stain and hand-painted with acrylic paints, then sealed with several coats of gloss finish to preserve the painting and give a rich texture to the wood. They come ready to hang on a manilla rope and can be diplayed inside or out.

Special orders, larger sleds, and other colors are available.

Slates and Sleds was originally established in 1986 and provided customers with oil painted wood sleds mostly for the Holiday Seasons. As business increased, other hand-painted items, including metal sawblades, slates and tin, were added to the product line. Today Slates and Sleds sells in shops throughout New England and provides customers with unique and hand-painted gifts for many occassions throughout the year. They make perfect gifts for house warmings, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, Holidays and yourself.
