Oak Mirrored Candle Sconces

Picture a couple reuniting for a romantic rendezvous at a mountain lodge in Switzerland. The lodge is old and timber-framed, with hand-plastered walls. The couple, again caught in the mood of the flickering candlelight, linger over their meal in the alpine dining room lit only by a fireplace and these sconces.

Shown here holding carnival glass candlestick holders (not included), our sconces can be used with candlestick holders, pillar candles, or small lanterns up to 4" in diameter.

The sconce is made of solid 3/4" oak with a chamfered edge all around. The oak is finished with tung oil, a natural vegetable oil that enhances the depth of the wood grain. The shelf is felted, providing a stable place for your lamp, candle, or candlestick holder. A 1/4" hole is drilled near the top for easy mounting. It measures 5" wide, 18" tall, and 5-1/2" deep.

Laughing Coyote Woodworks is a small woodworking business that makes its home in the Green Mountains of southwestern Vermont. Our 2-person business began in 1991. We focus on handmade wooden furniture, clocks, and accessories of our own design with a nod of recognition to the Mission and Shaker styles of furniture-making. Laughing Coyote Woodworks' creations are all handmade and hand-finished. We use the most environmentally responsible materials possible in their manufacture. These include sustainably harvested woods, salvaged woods, and vegetable oils and shellac for finishes. Laughing Coyote Woodworks is also happy to build custom orders of just about anything. If you can imagine it, we can build it! And when we say "custom design", we mean it. If you order a custom piece from us, it will be the only one like it that we build.
