Classic Wooden Rocking Horse

This rocking horse is an heirloom quality toy that can be handed down from parent to child for generations to come. And it's fun too! We make our rocking horses to be played with, not just looked at and dusted. Constructed from various hardwoods and finished with water-based polyurethane, this little pony is sturdy, strong, and built to last.

We make our rocking horses to order. You can choose from maple, walnut, or cherry, built on ash, maple or oak rockers. Other hardwoods are also available. The little filly shown is a maple horse on ash rockers. The ears, bridle, and saddle are made of medium-weight leather and we use good-quality yarn for the mane and tail. Some assembly is required. It measures 31" tall, 14" wide, and 52" long.

Laughing Coyote Woodworks is a small woodworking business that makes its home in the Green Mountains of southwestern Vermont. Our 2-person business began in 1991. We focus on handmade wooden furniture, clocks, and accessories of our own design with a nod of recognition to the Mission and Shaker styles of furniture-making. Laughing Coyote Woodworks' creations are all handmade and hand-finished. We use the most environmentally responsible materials possible in their manufacture. These include sustainably harvested woods, salvaged woods, and vegetable oils and shellac for finishes. Laughing Coyote Woodworks is also happy to build custom orders of just about anything. If you can imagine it, we can build it! And when we say "custom design", we mean it. If you order a custom piece from us, it will be the only one like it that we build.
